Description
The 1200 series is designed to protect your tank against damage caused by overpressure or excessive vacuum. Costly product evaporation losses due to normal tank "breathing" are significantly reduced. Because the valve retains toxic vapors, atmospheric contamination is minimized. This helps provide greater fire protection and greater safety. The Model 1202B pressure/vacuum relief valve is a vacuum spring-loaded version of the 1200A PVRV, designed for use at vacuums of 1 PSIG or more.
Nominal size range: 1/4″ to 12″ (13 to 300 mm)
Seat configuration: 30˚ seat. Ideal for use in union, insert and fully bolted rupture disc holders. Also available for screw-type holders and disposable assemblies. See the STD Rupture Disc information for these holder types. Available in light-lip or heavy-lip designs; see Table 1 for details on using the heavy-lip seat design.
Burst pressure range: 3 to 6000 psig (0.207 to 414 barg).
See Table 4 for the maximum and minimum burst pressures of standard rupture discs at 72˚F (22˚C). For burst tolerances and maximum recommended operating pressures, see Table 2A.
Operating temperature: up to 1000°F (538°C).
Temperature depends on the materials of construction. See Table 3 for the maximum temperature of rupture disc materials, linings and coatings.
Service: Suitable for gas, vapor or liquid.
Manufacturing range: See Table 2 for standard manufacturing ranges. Special and reduced manufacturing ranges are available on request.
The rupture disc is available in a wide variety of materials, designed to withstand corrosive media and adverse atmospheric conditions.
Specified rating types and MIN/MAX ranges are also available.
Cleaning
We offer discs prepared for cleaning for oxygen or chlorine applications, ensuring safe and efficient service.
Corrosion resistance
We provide corrosion-resistant fluoropolymer linings and coatings as needed. Other protective materials are also available on request.
Dent protectors
If the outlet dome (vent side) of your disc is exposed or at risk of damage, use a dent protector to prevent incidents.
Gaskets
Ensure a tight seal, even in holders that may have scratches or pitting, by installing a high-quality gasket.
Handling supports
Improper handling during installation can affect the burst pressure setting. We recommend using handling supports when installing thin or delicate rupture discs to prevent damage.
Protective rings
Add a protective ring to prevent damage to more fragile rupture discs or delicate linings that may be exposed to foreign materials in the seat area.
Vacuum supports
Protect your rupture disc under vacuum conditions by using a suitable vacuum support. If you require protection against back pressures above 14.7 psig (1.01 barg), consult your LaMOT representative to determine the ideal solution.
When ordering a rupture disc to operate under vacuum conditions, it is important to specify the exact details. Our vacuum supports are designed as an integral part of the rupture disc and are permanently attached to ensure correct installation.
Seat design
The LaMOT standard rupture disc is available in two seat options: "light lip" and "heavy lip," both with a 30° angle. The size and class of the holder bolts determine the type of seat required. For more details on using heavy-lip seats, see Table 1. If the seat type is not specified in Table 1, a light lip will apply.
Available drilling classes: 150# ANSI, PN10, PN16, JIS
Seat diaphragms: Buna-N, fluoropolymer, FKM, and others
