Description
A semicircular, slotted, reverse-acting rupture disc designed specifically for applications in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and biotechnology industries that require higher pressures than the SANITRX HPX.
Ideal for a wide range of sanitary and hygienic applications, SANITRX HPX II rupture discs fit between industry-standard sanitary ferrules, NA-CONNECT® flanges or SANITRX fittings. They meet the essential criteria of ASME BPE standards for cleanliness, traceability and sterilization, and are shipped in sanitary, eco-friendly, non-toxic packaging.
The pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food and beverage industries trust the SANITRX family of high-precision rupture discs, which combines industry-leading performance with compliance with ASME BPE and USP Class VI standards.
The SANITRX HPX II rupture disc is a semicircular, slotted, reverse-acting rupture disc designed specifically for applications requiring pressures above the SANITRX HPX specifications.
The versatility of the SANITRX HPX II
SANITRX HPX II rupture discs can be used in a wide range of sanitary and hygienic applications in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and food and beverage facilities. They fit between industry-standard sanitary ferrules, NovAseptic flanges or SANITRX fittings.
To optimize rupture disc life and performance, we manufacture and test every order of SANITRX HPX II rupture discs under the compressible or incompressible relief conditions you specify.
A fluoropolymer coating is offered for corrosion protection on the process or vent sides. Electropolished surface finishes are also available. Compliance with ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1 is available when requested.
ASME BPE Standard
The SANITRX HPX family of rupture discs meets the essential criteria of the ASME BPE standard as follows:
Clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) cleaning
Withstands temperatures of 130 °C where steam sterilization is required
Internal surfaces and sanitary fittings meet the SF1 standard surface finish requirements (20 Ra microinch)
USP Class VI certified gaskets are fully traceable, contain no animal-derived ingredients and meet other ASME BPE standards
316L stainless steel fittings are standard; alternative materials are available
Fully traceable materials
Fittings are marked and packaged accordingly
This standard provides requirements applicable to the design of equipment used in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and personal care industries, including aspects related to sterility and cleanliness, materials of construction, dimensions and tolerances, surface finish, material joining and seals.
The standard applies to components in contact with the product, raw materials or intermediates. Systems that are a critical part of the manufacturing process, such as water for injection (WFI), clean steam, filtration and intermediate storage may also comply with this standard.
Sanitary packaging
The SANITRX HPX family of rupture discs is shipped in sanitary, non-toxic, eco-friendly packaging.
Benefits include:
The plastic packaging eliminates direct contact of the rupture disc with open-cell material, such as cardboard or foam, which can carry contaminants or leave particles on the rupture disc
The transparent packaging provides visibility of the rupture disc tag, allowing verification of the rupture disc specification without removing it from the package
Recyclable plastic and cardboard packaging
Combined with the vertical tag, the new plastic packaging provides a compact, space-saving container for the rupture disc
