Description
The precision failure-initiating indentation, high-precision marking and a variety of materials of construction make the ULTRX rupture disc a versatile, economical choice for overpressure protection.
The ULTRX features the highest burst pressure rating in the TRX line of marked reverse-acting rupture discs. Learn more about the STAR X, for ultra-low pressure applications, or the MINTRX, for medium- to low-pressure applications.
Alternatively, you can view other product varieties in our popular HPX line of rupture discs.

An ULTRX rupture disc is a reverse-acting, scored, full-open, non-reclosing rupture disc that protects equipment, vessels and systems from overpressure damage. It also excels at isolating pressure relief valves.
The ULTRX offers:
A zero standard manufacturing range
A safety ratio of 1.5 or less
Standard materials of Alloy 276, Alloy 600, Alloy 400, stainless steel and nickel
Encapsulating rings to provide perfect alignment and eliminate sensitivity to sealing load
A three-dimensional flow tag for clear verification of proper installation
Compliance with national or international codes, including ASME Section III or VIII (the ASME compliance symbol is available on request), DIN, BSI, JIS and other codes
A non-fragmenting design
Gas or liquid service? Both.
The ULTRX rupture disc is unique in that it excels in gas, partial-gas, liquid and fully liquid systems. A precisely controlled indentation on the disc surface initiates the reversal action.
Full opening occurs in liquid or gas systems, including systems with small volumes or extremely low rates of pressure rise.
The ULTRX eliminates:
The concern of applying the wrong disc type in a plant; an ULTRX rupture disc can be used in any system
The need for a gas pocket between the rupture disc and the liquid medium.
