Description

The pharmaceutical, biotech, and food and beverage industries trust the high-precision SANITRX family of rupture discs: the perfect combination of industry-leading performance with ASME BPE, USP Class VI and 3A compliance.

The SANITRX LP rupture disc includes all the features of the original SANITRX rupture disc, slightly modified for applications that require lower pressures with lower flow resistance.

SANITRX rupture discs can be used in a wide range of sanitary and hygienic applications in pharmaceutical, biotech, and food and beverage facilities. They fit between industry-standard sanitary ferrules, NA-CONNECT flanges or SANITRX fittings.

To optimize rupture disc life and performance, we manufacture and test each order of SANITRX rupture discs to the compressible or incompressible relieving conditions you specify.

Fluoropolymer coating is available for corrosion protection on the process or vent sides. Electropolished surface finishes are also available. Compliance with ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1 is available on request.

ASME BPE Standard

The SANITRX HPX family of rupture discs meets the essential criteria of the ASME BPE standard as follows:

Clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP).

Withstands temperatures of 130°C where steam sterilization is required.

Internal surfaces and sanitary fittings meet the SF1 standard surface finish requirements (20 Ra microinches).

USP Class VI certified gaskets are fully traceable, contain no animal-derived ingredients and meet other ASME BPE standards.

Discs and fittings are generally made of 316L stainless steel; alternatives can be provided if specified by users.

Fully traceable materials.

Fittings are marked and packaged in accordance with regulations.

The ASME BPE standard sets requirements applicable to the design of equipment used in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and personal care industries, including aspects related to sterility and cleanability, materials of construction, dimensions and tolerances, surface finish, material joining and seals. It applies to components in contact with the product, raw materials or intermediates. Systems that are a critical part of the manufacturing process, such as water for injection (WFI), clean steam, filtration and intermediate storage, may also comply with this standard.

Sanitary Packaging

The SANITRX HPX family of rupture discs ships in sanitary, non-toxic, environmentally friendly packaging.

Benefits include:

The plastic packaging eliminates direct contact of the rupture disc with open-cell material, such as cardboard or foam, which can carry contaminants or leave particles on the rupture disc.

The clear packaging provides visibility of the rupture disc tag, allowing verification of the disc specifications without removing it from the package.

Recyclable plastic package and cardboard carton.

Combined with the vertical tag, the new plastic packaging provides a compact, space-saving container for the rupture disc.
