Description
Groth Corporation Pad Gas Regulators ensure that constant gas pressure is maintained in the vapor space of a storage tank. A pad gas regulator supplies an inert gas to prevent a vacuum from forming when liquid is withdrawn from a tank, to maintain the desired blanketing pressure when the temperature drops, and to prevent outside air from contaminating the tank or creating a flammable or explosive atmosphere. A blanketing gas pressure as low as 0.5 inches of water column (InWC) keeps outside air and moisture from entering the storage vessel and reduces evaporation of the stored product to practically zero. The end result: product conservation and a significant reduction in tank emissions.
Groth pad gas regulators provide a controlled gas environment in storage tanks for the following applications:
Refineries
Chemical and petrochemical plants
Bulk liquid storage terminals
Pulp and paper plants
Food and beverage storage
Simple operation, balanced piston design with "push-push" spring
Bubble-tight shutoff
Variable orifice with field-adjustable flow capacity
Single-stage regulator
Set ranges from 0.5 inches of water column (InWC) to 15 psig
Modulating opening
Minimal lockup and droop
