Description
The Groth Model 2301A Emergency Relief Valve is designed to vent to atmosphere in emergencies, providing relief capacity greater than that offered by a standard operating valve used on low-pressure tanks, piping, and vessels. Emergency relief valves protect against excessive internal pressures that could cause damage to the tank.
The Model 2301A is built entirely from corrosion-resistant materials. The special self-closing fluoropolymer "air-cushioned" pallet, together with a central stabilizing stem and peripheral guides, ensures uniform seating and alignment. High-performance fluoropolymer seat diaphragms are standard to minimize sticking caused by resinous vapors and atmospheric moisture.
The guides support a molded protective hood that covers and protects the entire valve structure. As additional protection against the entry of foreign objects, a wire mesh surrounds the valve beneath the protective hood.
Can be used for emergency relief on smaller tanks
Peripheral and central seat guides ensure reliable, repeatable performance
A wide seat and an air-cushion seal keep leakage low even long after the valve has entered service
The self-draining housing body and drip rings protect the seating surfaces from condensate and freezing, increasing operational reliability
