Description
A tantalum, semicircular, scored, reverse-acting rupture disc designed for use with highly corrosive media.
Recommended for applications involving bromine, chlorine, HCL, nitric acid, sulfuric acid or other media at corrosive concentrations, temperatures and humidity conditions, the HPX-Ta is made from highly corrosion-resistant tantalum. HPX holders can also be upgraded with a tantalum liner or coating on the components.
We manufacture the versatile and reliable HPX-Ta from tantalum, the only material suitable for processing highly corrosive media such as bromine, chlorine, HCL, nitric acid or sulfuric acid.
The HPX-Ta has a maximum operating ratio of 90% and is designed for a minimum of 1,000 cycles from full vacuum to the maximum recommended operating pressure.
It is also a member of the HPX rupture disc family.
The HPX rupture disc family is designed for a long and reliable service life, even at the high operating-to-burst pressure ratios of today's process industries. Advanced machining processes and optimal material thickness ensure full openings and precise burst ratings for a perfect rupture every time.
We manufacture each batch of rupture discs to order, according to the specifications of the overpressure relief requirement at your plant. We performance-test and proof-pressure-test every disc before shipment; our goal is to give you complete confidence in the reliability of our rupture discs.
The HPX-Ta provides:
Lower maintenance costs and greater reliability than other corrosion-resistant materials.
Compatibility with the HPX insert, HPX-PT pre-torqued holders or HPX dual-disc holders.
HPX-PT tantalum-lined pre-torqued holders are ideal for use on vessels or pipe spools with protective lined flanges.
Greater holder corrosion resistance thanks to the tantalum liner or coating on the holder inlets and outlets
